The organization is devoted to cultural, ethical, moral, and spiritual awakening of India and was formed by Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya , an eminent scholar, freedom-fighter, social reformer, visionary and erudite writer.

The Ireland Branch of AWGP is devoted to socio-spiritual awakening in Dublin. It undertakes several programs to propagate the ideals of the mission through activities like organization of book exhibitions and lectures at various public places and corporate houses, organization of seminars, conducting Yagya and other sanskaras and so on.
